Mental health is a topic that is commonly overlooked and we as individuals— unknowingly or not—choose to be oblivious to the signs of someone struggling with mental health. As a society, we are conditioned to take everything at surface level. Do you see the people you come in contact with? See Me is a campaign aimed at placing a spotlight on the way we view our coworkers, friends, family, and others. With the use of photography, the identities of these individuals have been deconstructed to the point of unrecognition. By altering the way we identify people, it's difficult for this unsettling composition to go unnoticed. The onlooker will look deeper at each individual trying to find some thread of recognition. The effort put forth in viewing these compositions is just a glimpse into how much effort should be put into seeing everyone around us.
Deconstruction; The act of breaking something down to understand its meaning, especially when this is different from how it was previously understood.
